I’ve seen multiple dermatologists and tried many skincare products with no results. How is it that you can successfully clear up acne?

Clearing up acne is actually quite easy and fast when it is approached in the correct way. Successful clearing of acne largely depends on identifying the type of acne you have. Once you know your type, you can use the correct products and treatment methods to fight it. Yes, there are different types of acne and each type requires a different approach. Some types need more anti-bacterial action, while other types need to focus more on deep, professional exfoliation through chemical peels. Another key component of acne that we address the bodies ability to quickly adapt to homecare products. We make periodic adjustments to the strength and the order you use your products to prevent product adaption.

How soon should I expect to be clear?

On average it takes 6-8 acne treatments, booked 2 weeks apart in order to get clear so that means most clients can be clear in as little as 3-4 months. A small percentage of clients have more stubborn acne so getting clear may take longer in those cases. We are not able to completely clear up clients that are not compliant with our daily homecare product protocol, lifestyle changes or who do not come in every 2 weeks for their treatment.

Once I am clear, do I have to have maintenance treatments to keep my skin clear?

No, you do not have to continue maintenance treatments in order to maintain your clear skin. On average it takes 6-8 initial acne treatments to get clear skin, after that you just have to continue using your homecare products to prevent new acne from forming. We cannot permanently cure acne, however once you reach the maintenance phase, you can continue to keep it at bay by being diligent with your homecare routine.

What can I expect my skin to look like during the treatment course?

During the course of your acne treatment, it is normal for the skin to look and feel dry. Most clients will experience flaking skin for about 2-3 days following the professional treatments. It is important for clients not to be aggressive in scrubbing off or rubbing off the flaking skin or else irritation and hyperpigmentation can result. Once clients are done with the treatment program and are on maintenance, most find that their skin hydration returns to normal.

I have acne and hyperpigmentation. Will your treatments help with both?

Yes, our acne treatments and homecare products address both acne and hyperpigmentation at the same time. Generally, the acne will clear up much faster than the hyperpigmentation but most clients will still see noticeable fading of their pigmentation issues. Once you are clear of acne, you may opt to receive our Dark Spot Treatments to address any residual hyperpigmentation.

What is the cost of your treatments and homecare products?

Our consultations consist of 2 parts, first is a video consultation (free of charge), the second part is your first in-office visit with one of our acne specialists ($50).

Each acne, rosacea, or hyperpigmentation treatment is $125. The average cost of an initial product kit is $150 – $200. As you need to replenish individual products, the cost can be anywhere from $15 to $45 depending on the product needed.

Will insurance cover my treatments and product purchases?

We are a skincare practice and not a dermatologist office therefore insurance will not cover your expenses. However, many of our clients are able to be reimbursed for their expenses if they have a Flexible Spending Account (FSA) through their employer. All plans are different and you should discuss this with your FSA administrator to see what their specific qualifications are. We cannot make any promises that your FSA will cover our treatments and products.

What if I need to cancel or reschedule my appointment?

Due to high demand of our acne services, we ask that you please give us 24 hour notice so that we may fill the vacancy with a client on our waiting list.

All clients must hold their appointments with a valid credit card. Same day cancellation of appointment or simply not showing up for your appointment will result in a charge of the full treatment price to your card on file ($50 for consultation and $125 for acne treatment or hyperpigmentation treatment).
